Take a Vacation to Arendelle

With Frozen being one of the most successful animated movies of all time, and the highest grossing animated movie ever, it was only a matter of time before fans would be able to go experience Arendelle in it's full glory, and that time has come.

It's not surprising that Frozen has been integrated into so many different aspects of Disneyland-- the Fantasy Faire theater play, the Storybook Land Canal attraction, and the winter parade (to name a few)-- but this is the first time in Disney history that one princess movie has taken up a semi-permanent residence in both parks at the same time. It's not often that we get to see princesses in California Adventure, with the exception of the World of Color show and the meet and greet at Ariel's Grotto, and that might be part of the reason that it's surprising that Disney has reimagined the California Adventure Hollywood Land to open up the land of Frozen Fun, an immersive, interactive world of Arendelle.

If you walk into California Adventure and take a short stroll down Buena Vista Street up to Hollywood Land, you'll be able to meet your favorite characters, participate in sing alongs, play on snow playgrounds, and go to dance parties every night.

1) Anna and Elsa's Royal Welcome
Disney has revamped part of the Animation Academy to create the Royal Academy, where you can meet the sisters from Frozen. Now I'll bet that everyone's thinking-- "Won't we have to wait in a line about 3-4 hours long?" and yes, that used to be the case (I would know, I waited in line with my friends for 2 1/2 hours just to meet these two sisters), but not anymore! Instead of wasting 3 hours of your vacation waiting to have a 2 minute-long chat with some characters, Disney's decided to try something new. If you've ever gotten fast passes for a ride, this is going to sound very familiar to you.  If you take your park ticket or annual passport to a little computer- type thing, you can get a return ticket to come back at a certain time and meet the princesses-- no line required!

2) For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
Does anyone else sing along as loud as humanly possible to every song when they're watching Frozen? (Or any Disney movie, for that matter?) Well, here's your chance to do that very thing in an environment where it's socially acceptable! When you walk into what used to be the Muppet Vision 3D building-- and what is now the Crown Jewel Theatre-- you'll find that you've been taken to an interactive showcase, where you are led through a sing along retelling of Frozen. Two Arendellian storytellers host this magical musical experience, with some help from Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa along the way. I mean, who wouldn't want to be able to sing "Let It Go" with the ice queen herself?

3) Olaf's Snow Fest
If you love Olaf (and let's be honest, everyone does), you'll love this chilly playground. It seems as though Olaf has turned his back on his summer dreams and transformed Stage 17 into the Arendelle courtyard, so that everyone can have a wintertime adventure-- complete with real snow! And don't worry, Disney's not trying to trick you, it is real, not that fake sudsy stuff that falls in the park at Christmastime. When you visit this snowy playground, you'll be able to build a snowman, slide down icy slides, and make snow angels as much as you like. And if you end up getting a bit too cold, you can always walk over and say hi to Olaf and get a hug to warm you up. If you start to feel a little worn out, you can always take a seat and enjoy the entertainment and play a role in some of the songs and story games that are put on by The Tubadours and The Frolicking Fjords.

4) Freeze the Night!
Always wanted to go to a cool dance party in Hollywood? Here's your chance! At "Freeze the Night" you're able to go to a dance party, where they invite all the guests to "chill out", watch the Ice Breakers dance crew, go to The Ice House for some yummy food, and dance to the music that's all set up by "DJ Chill". As the night goes on, the temperature goes down, and at the end of the night the huge thermometer reaches the freezing point, and the party goes off with a bang.

So be sure to make your way over to California Adventure's Hollywood Land if you're lucky enough to be at Disneyland before May, because that's when all of this Frozen Fun comes to an end!
